A wall of Jr. Highers

Blazers are showing an amazing increase in the junior high hunger and seriousness for the presence of God! We have been teaching and pulling on them to dig things out in the Word, lead worship, give a sermon, give the offering, etc., so that this becomes theirs and not just a time where they come and sit.

One example: Sammy, one of our Blazers, gave an offering teaching a couple of weeks ago that was so powerful that we were all struck by the tangible presence of God! He began by talking about not taking the offering as serious as a part of worship, and how we need the “power of all” to operate for them as a group.

He had every person stand across the front of the room that had an offering to give that night. He challenged the others by saying, "Does this look like a wall to you? Does this look like enough to protect you from the enemy?”

“I don't know about you, but I have temptations and trials in my life that I need God to help me with,” he said and added, “ I need God to get into my life and help me and protect me so that I can stay strong enough to carry this revival and have the life He wants for me. So, I have been working for the last few months doing odd jobs here and there and earning money, a dollar here and a dollar there, just to do this for God and for us as a group."

He then pulled a wad of $1 bills out of his pocket and proceeded to go around and hand them out to each kid there. He told them that it was important enough that he was willing to do whatever it took for them to come to God with something in their hands, an offering that would get God to look their way.

Then he said, "Now everyone stand up who has an offering.” You could feel God come very close at that moment. The kids were stunned and convicted as they stood with those dollar bills in their hands!

"Now this is a wall that the enemy would have to notice and think twice about before coming to get one of us,” Sammy explained. “If we are going to show God we are serious about this, then this is what we have to be: a wall....ALL of us!"

It was one of the most powerful things I have ever witnessed. What an amazing story of revival among our Jr. High Blazers. – reported by Sherry Weedman
