I remember the night well. I was 18yrs old and trying to decide what I was supposed to do with my life. The voices of those I loved were ringing loudly in my head. From my Jewish Grandma wanting me to be a doctor, to my pastor pointing me in the direction of ministry.
There were as many options as I had friends and family. But what did God want me to do. I decided that night in the little church in Florence,SC that it was to be the night that I heard from God.
I had grown up believing that the most important thing for me to do in life was to do what God wanted me to do. So needless to say I felt some pressure to make sure I got it right. I figured I had one shot at this and I didn't want to mess it up.
So, after the sermon I set out for the altar and thought I'm not moving till I hear from God no matter how long it takes.
But within a short time I heard my answer. Like a voice coming from inside of me I heard the Lord say clearly. "I have called you to serve me and to take my message to the nations."
I jumped up and said that's it, "I'm called to be a missionary" I assumed I would jump on the next plane with a missionary friend and set out to fulfill my call.
Little did I know it would take almost 30 years of walking in faith and obedience to see the fulfillment.
My jouney has taken me through many facets of ministry from being a youth pastor to a senior pastor. I took short term mission's trips and gave to support missionaries all over the world but yet I still felt I was not fullfilling what God had initially called me to do.
Until now...As online pastor here at World Revival Church, I now speak to the nations. Each week I communicate by email with people from all over the world and each week I pray with people here at World Revival Church from countries I will never visit.
I have learned hearing God is not a one time event - It is a lifetime of faith and obedience!
So if you are wanting to find God's will for your life, start out by obeying His will for today.
