Breaking the Law of Lack

Posted June 11th, 2010 by Bryan Riportella

How many of you have come up against the wall of "not enough or lack"?  Or should I say how many haven't.  We all have faced situations where we would have really liked to do something or buy something but we did not have enough money.  I call this wall of not enough money, the law of lack.

For example...You want to take another family out to dinner but there is not enough money...You want to take your family on vacation but there is not enough money... You want to buy a new phone but there is not enough money.  I think you are getting my drift.  Many of us have become so accustomed to lack that we accept it as the way it is supposed to be.  I believe that is so against what God has for His people. The law of lack is unjust and illegal for God's children.  Now I'm not saying God wants us to have everything our little heart's desire but I am saying He wants us to learn not to allow the law of lack to limit us or better yet, limit Him.

We get so caught up with our eyes on the circumstances of lack that we forget to lift up our eyes and look on the One who Is our provision.

Listen to this story of a young lady who came across the law of lack and by faith and obedience kicked that wall down.  She is a new attendee here at World Revival Church and wanted very much to be in the World Revival School of Ministry but yes, you guessed it, she did not have enough money.  At first she let the law of lack stop her from her dream and what she felt the Lord wanted her to do, but then her eyes were opened to look past the circumstances and onto Jesus, her provision.

While she was praying the Lord told her he wanted her to go to school but her response was "Lord I do not have the money,  I need You to provide".  And provide He did, but not like you would expect.  He told her she had the money.  It was in things she owned that she could sell.  That very moment she got up and began to put her items for sale, she called friends and before long she had all the money she needed to attend World Revival School of Ministry.  When she came in and told me this story, I had tears in my eyes but I knew we had a student that had already learned how to operated above the law of lack and release the power of supernatural finances through faith and obedience.

Are you ready to break the law of lack in your life by getting your eyes off the circumstances and putting them on the One who is your provision!  Open up your eyes to see what you do have not what you lack.
