“We have an assumption in Christianity that everyone has experienced the presence of God, but that’s just not true,” stated Pastor Steve Gray this past Sunday at World Revival Church.
He added, “God never intended you to be a believer and not have his presence!”
The cares of this life, the scars and the hurts cannot exist where the fullness of God’s presence is. Here are Pastor Steve’s helpful tips to experience God’s presence in a life-changing way:
1. Understand that God has made his presence available to every believer. “Personally, the presence of God is the very thing I run to whenever I am overwhelmed or things get hard,” shared Pastor Steve.
2. Decide that you want his presence more than anything else. “You’ve got to make it the ‘one thing’ you desire,’” he admonished. “Clear your list of the other things that compete for your attention.”
3. Draw near and cry out. “God says if we draw near to him, he will draw near to us. Make the psalmist's words your life’s cry,” Pastor Steve encouraged. “My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God!”
