Katelynn was just 3 years old when she got a viral infection that led to infection in her hip joint. After repeated attempts to clean out the infection, the final prognosis was grim.
Over time, little Katelynn’s bone and hip joint had deteriorated, and the nerve was damaged. Doctors told Katelynn’s mom, Anna, that a hip replacement was required and that they would need to slow the growth of the other leg to help the injured side match up. Katelynn was in pain and having trouble walking even short distances.
For a single mom, this was a difficult time in Anna’s life. “There were a lot of tears, and it was difficult,” she tells us. Her parents brought her to the House of Hope and Healing, a prayer outreach of World Revival Church, where she and Katelynn received prayer.
For Anna, it was the turning point in Katelyn’s condition and the point when hope came in. Hope was important in the healing process. Anna says, “Not only will it cheer your child up, but it will give you hope and restore your faith that the Lord can do anything, even miracles.”
Anna and Katelynn began attending services at World Revival Church and continued to get prayer every chance they could. “We continued to go for prayer,” says Anna, “believing that this was not going to affect her anymore.”
And the miracles were beginning… In 2008 it was shown that Katelyn’s nerve wasn’t damaged anymore. In September 2009, Katelyn got prayer in her Sparks class, a children’s ministry of World Revival Church. After one of the other little girls in class prayed for her, Katelyn told her mom, “I felt the Holy Spirit come in and heal my hip!”
X-rays in November 2009 revealed the miracle that had taken place. The bone had completely grown back and fit perfectly in the hip joint. Katelyn was whole. God’s healing touch had done what the doctors had told her and her mom would never happen. Anna tells us, “The doctors told me there wasn’t any hope that the bone would grow back. They told me this would affect her whole life. I would call this a miracle!”
Through faith, hope and persevering prayers, Katelynn received her miracle from God. Now she’s able to live a healthy, happy life!
